Panthers Nipped at Home

The Panthers women's soccer team set a new season high for goals, but still came up just short, falling to Finger Lakes Community College 3-2. The Panthers are now 1-6-1 overall and 0-5-1 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Finger Lakes 1-6-0 overall and 1-4-0 in the MSAC.

For the first time this season, the Panthers scored first. Marlee Hogan (Auburn/Auburn H.S.) put the Panthers on the board in the 18th minute of action, but the Lakers responded three minutes later to make it 1-1. The visitors took the lead in the 39th minute, making the score 2-1 at the half.

Hogan had her first multi-goal game of the season, tying the game with her second goal just eight minutes in to the second half. The response from Finger Lakes was quick, regaining the lead just 72 seconds later. The final 36 minutes were played scoreless, leaving the Panthers just short of picking up their first conference win of the season.

Hogan finished with two goals, and Emily Smith (South Oteselic/Otselic Valley H.S.) had two assists. TC3 goalie JuShawna Crane (Cincinnatus/Cincinnatus H.S.) had five sves.
