The Panthers softball team continued its streak of leading in every game, but by the time the final out was recorded in each game, they had lost both ends of the doubleheader at Monroe Community College. TC3 lost by scores of 18-7 and 12-7 to drop to 1-5 on the season; Monroe is 5-13 overall and 4-4 in Region 3.

Game One: Monroe 17, Tompkins Cortland 8  (five innings)

The Panthers put four runs on the board in their first at bats, but Monroe answered with six I the bottom of the first. After a scoreless second, the Panthers plated one in the third, but Monroe responded with four in the bottom of the frame. A seven-run fourth for the home team put the game away, leading to the early stoppage due to the run rule.

Brooklynn Seiger was the only Panther with multiple hits, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Sophie Mayer also drove in two runs, going 1-for-2 with a double.

Game Two: Monroe 12, Tompkins Cortland 7

Batting as the home team in the nightcap, the Panthers led 5-1 after the first inning, and 6-3 after two innings. The lead stood at 6-5 after four innings, but Monroe outscored the Panthers 7-1 over the final two innings to complete the sweep.

Peyton Swartwout and Olivia Wagner each had two hits for the Panthers, with Swartwout scoring twice and hitting a double. Matisyn Lord also scored twice and had a double for the Panthers.
