Panthers Lax Drops MSAC OPener to Genesee

The Mid-State Athletic Conference opener saw the Panthers lacrosse team drop a 23-6 final to Genesee Community College on Monday. The loss drops TC3 to 0-6 overall while Genesee now stands at 3-2 overall.

Genesee took advantage of several turnovers to build a 5-0 lead after the first quarter. The margin grew to 9-0 midway through the second quarter before Jimmy Craft found the net to get the Panthers on the board. Three more went in for the Cougars before Mark Darling scored to make the score 12-2 heading into the halftime. A goal by Joey Vrendenburgh opened the third quarter, but the Cougars continued to pull away, eventually leading 19-5 after the third period and 23-6 at the final horn.

Vrendenburgh had three goals for the Panthers, with Darling posting a goal and an assist. Craft and Aidan Greeney each had goal for TC3.

Cameron Cherry was once again busy in goal, recording 23 saves.

The Panthers play at Mohawk Valley Community College on Wednesday.
