The Panthers bounced back into the win column with an 83-76 win at Cayuga Community College on Wednesday. The Panthers are now 8-6 overall and 5-3 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Cayuga drops to 3-13 overall and 3-4 in the MSAC.
In their first time out after seeing their four-game win streak snapped on Saturday, the Panthers wasted little time in taking control against the Spartans. After Cayuga went up 5-2 in the opening minutes, TC3 used a 16-2 run to move in front. The lead grew to 16 points at the half, with the Panthers up 37-21 at the break. The spread continued to grow in the second half, topping 20 points with five minutes left to play before Cayuga closed the gap to single digits in the final minute. A basket at the buzzer for the Spartans made the final margin seven points.
Jah-Mel Bruce and Kashif Summers, Jr. each had 21 points, with Bruce grabbing 12 rebounds and Summers pulling down 6 while also recording 4 steals and 3 assists. Charlek Rockcliffe just missed a double-double with 9 points and 10 rebounds and Malachi Brown tossed in 13 points.
Looking ahead
The Panthers return home for weekend games against North Country Community College on Saturday and Clinton Community College on Sunday.
