After opening the season with two overtime losses, the TC3 men's basketball team was able to pick up its first win in a more relaxed fashion, beating Hudson Valley Community College 87-62. The home win on Saturday improves TC3 to 1-2 on the season; Hudson Valley drops to 0-5.
The first few minutes were back -and-forth, but the final 15 minutes of the first half saw the Panthers take control. The lead topped 20 points before halftime, and the home team wasn't threatened in the second half.
Jah-Mel Bruce and Kashif Summers, Jr. each had 20 points to pace the Panthers. Summers just missed a double-double, grabbing nine rebounds to lead the team on the boards.
Looking ahead
It's a quick turnaround for the Panthers, as the team plays at SUNY Adirondack on Sunday.
